Shizue Imai's work is as rooted in the ceramic tradition of Japan as the freedom of expression associated with the land she made home in 1989; each piece is unique, each a brave visual exposition and a talisman alike. Pieces from Dark Side of the Moon are flat, sculptures meant to be hung upon a wall, and feature a circular, crater-like shape on a surface glazed in such a way as to possess the colorless shimmer of the moon.
