This exceptional pair of sofas is remarkably well balanced, and reveals the influence of the French Empire Style on its maker André Arbus. The pieces were created at the height of Arbus’ dizzying popularity, and, because they were commissioned for the Palais des Consuls de Rouen in 1956, are singular in nature.
