This is a fine collection of fifteen rare Téton tiles expertly mounted onto a contemporary honeycomb polypropylene panel. The panel and mounting materials are archival and 100% reversible and safe for the ceramic. The company JOUVE France was founded by Jacqueline Jouve, the widow of Georges Jouve, following his death, and remained active until 1978. Jouve France employed highly skilled artisans who had worked with Georges Jouve and who would otherwise have faced unemployment after the premature death of the master ceramist. The company specialized in ceramic wall coverings. According to Karine Lacquemant, author of a major monograph on Georges Jouve published in 2025, among all the tile models produced by Jouve France, only the design of the “Téton” model can be attributed to Georges Jouve. This tile model was selected in 1970 to adorn the entrance wall of the Coca-Cola factory in Les Pennes-Mirabeau, near Marseille.
