An homage to one the masterpieces of the Edo period, a screen by Ogata Kōrin, this work in Verre Eglomisé depicts a cherry blossom tree sitting alongside a stylized river, its blossoms foretelling spring renewal and new beginnings. The pink petals and falling blossoms have an ephemeral beauty that is short lived, for they fall into, and are carried away by, the constantly running water.
