This charming vase, adorned with raised leaf and bamboo cane motifs, is undoubtly one of the most famous creations of Edmond Lachenal (1855-1948), founder of the workshop that bears his name. It has been exhibited at the Salon of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1894 and acquired by the Musée des arts décoratifs of Paris the same year. Jean-Jacques and Raoul Lachenal, the two sons of Edmond, worked alongside him and were dedicated to promoting the family workshop. This successful vase was thus revisited and produced in various colors during the 1920s by Raoul Lachenal, assisted by his talented collaborator Georges Jaéglé.
