Exhibited:

Exposition internationale du cadre du XVe au XXe siècle, Galerie Georges Petit, Paris, France. April 1931.

Our mirror exhibited under #429 and described as « Cadre glaces et melchior » on page 32 of the catalog.

This exhibition, which showcased French, German, British, Spanish, Dutch, and Italian frames from the 15th to the 20th centuries, was curated by Serge Roche, prominent collector and dealer of both antique and modern frames. We notice in the exhibition catalog that many of the antique frames were part of his personal collection, and that Roche took the opportunity to display nine of his own creations (#429 to #437).
