Born of the collaboration between a Parisian antiques dealer and a rural Vietnamese artists' community, Atelier Saigon is testament to the value of craft and workmanship. The artisans who compose the group, rather than using materials harmful to man and environment alike, instead make their sculptural furniture pieces from natural materials to match their subjects--ceramics with beautifully worn glazes or sturdy mixtures of papier mâché of their very own creation. Their traditional designs and worn aesthetic suggest ancient origins, defying their recent creation and belying their creators' skill.
