Michela Cattai

A Milan-based glass artist, Michela Cattai is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, and was the Art Director of Venini until 2023. Today, she works independently. Her glass vessels, crafted by some of Murano’s finest glassmakers, pay homage to the Golden Age of Venetian glass—and yet, are nothing if not exemplary of artistic innovation in the field. Her work is a testimony to the way in which the finest art glass practiced for centuries in Murano can be reinterpreted to fully express our modern moment.

She has participated in solo and group exhibitions at the Chamber of Deputies in the Sala del Cenacolo, Rome and the Italian Cultural Institute of Tokyo, and her work is included in the collections of the Stiftung Museum Kunst Palast of Düsseldorf, the Europeana of DDB, the Murano Glass Museum, the Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista in Venice, and the Italian Embassy’s permanent collection of modern art in Tokyo, among others.
