Methyl methacrylate and steel
With his Piano Spaziale console table, Argentinean designer Frederico Brook uses distinctive materials and shapes to play with our concept of space in furniture. While his steel frame, composed of elegantly symmetrical shapes is bold, assertive, and claims visual space, his kinetic acrylic components, by contrast, allow our line of sight to pass through the piece as well as shift in accordance with its position. He has spelled out BROOK on the rotating disk in abstract metallic type embedded in the acrylic, and inscribed Brook 69 on its corner.
