After working under Maurice Dufrène at the Galeries Lafayette, Jacques Adnet became artistic director and main designer of the Compagnie des Arts Français (C.A.F.) in 1928, a position he held until 1959. As a young and innovative designer, Adnet changed the artistic line of this traditional cabinetmaker which until then had been focused on ornamentation, refining the lines a as well as the uses of metal and glass in his designs. This lamp, featured in magazines from 1928, is one of the very first designs he created for the Compagnie des Arts Français. Inscribed: Made in France
