This monumental ten legged sofa was designed by Rothschild and Gaudissard for the famed luxury ocean liner the SS Normandie. It is not, however, merely of historical interest, unusual as it is for its grand size, its ingenious, delightful arrangement, and charming details, which include a pair of cushioned interior arms, rounded ends, and original gilding, slightly retouched as necessary.
