An exceptional, rare mahogany cabinet made by Jules Leleu the year after the war, featuring gilt bronze details and ornaments, and an elaborate, mother of pearl and ebony inlay by Messager. The Art Deco ‘Feux d’artifice’ (Fireworks) mahogany and marquetry cabinet is inlaid with mahogany, ebony and mother-of-pearl marquetry. The front is a slightly bowed form with a stepped top and opens to reveal a blonde wood interior with two shelves, flanked with faceted supports with gilt-bronze details, tapered legs with sabots, stamped '22568'.
