Violet wood, églomisé mirror, metal base
This modernist cabinet in violet wood retains its original central glass églomisé panel depicting lilies, a butterfly, and a fish, and rests on a chrome-plated metal base with curving, ribbon-like legs. A drawing by Anatole Kasskoff (1898-1978) dated 1935 (inventory number 2006.1.1) depicting the model of sideboard is recorded in the Leleu archives at Musée des Années Trente in Boulogne-Billancourt.
Our cabinet is also associated with the 1937 large four-door armoire kept in the collection of Musée des Années Trente (inventory number 2017.0.307), where collaborators for the églomisé mirror panel and the metal base are named as Anatole Kaskoff and Raymond Subes.
