Louis Cane

An early work from the ’support surface’ artistic movement. From the series ‘Les papiers découpés », the artist drew red crosses on several papers. Assembling the individual pieces created the support of the final work.  The pictorial elements themselves are the subject, an artistic strategy comparable to trends in Minimal art in USA or Arte Povera in Italy during the same period.
