Pair of Rare Spanish Octagonal Mirrors

Spain, circa 1965

JAN 23

The central sections are probably late 17th century, the outer borders added by Pierre Delbee of Maison Jansen, circa, 1965.

Pierre Delbée, whose residence in Paris was world famous as the pinnacle of the lush Jansen aesthetic (and was auctioned off in 1999 by Christies), represented Maison Jansen in its top projects from 1967, when he succeeded the inimitable Stéphane Boudin, until 1979, when the company changed hands.
