This elegant large-scale nude is, like many sculptures of the period, classically inspired, both in its aesthetic and subject matter—depicting in plaster, a just-larger than life-sized anthropomorphized Dawn.

15e Foire de Marseille – Salon artistique de l’art d’antan à l’art d’aujourd’hui, September 1941. Paul Rocheil exhibited four sculptures of the 1930s including L’Aurore (The Dawn) that could be probably be our sculpture.
