As in its namesake, the wavelike movement in Sandra Nunnerley's contemporary console resembles the visual nova of a celestial star – flaring up in brightness before returning to its original form. Nova serves as a serious (yet playful) addition to her set of occasional tables. Sharing their aesthetic, their astronomical theme, and their focus on the contrast of night with day, of light with darkness, this console is, nevertheless, expansive and more visually arresting than its predecessors.
