Fernando Mastrangelo is a master of uniting form, material, and conception. This desk is no exception. Its pared-down, horizontal form has a single rounded corner, suggesting both the earth’s gradual curve and the fluidity of water; and by employing the use of warmly blended sand and powdered glass Mastrangelo has not merely rendered a seascape—he has done so with its actual, natural components.
